Useful Information

What to Bring

Between 6pm and 6am, access to Mon Repos Conservation Park and beach is through the Mon Repos Visitor Centre. Soft lighting has been installed around the centre and in the carpark to ensure a dark beach for the turtles - so bring a small two-cell torch. Food and drinks are available for purchase at the park, but you may want to provide your own drinking water. Closed-in shoes or sandals are recommended to traverse the boardwalks and for beach walking at night as you could be walking for up to a kilometre and in some parts there are rocks, a warm jacket for cooler evenings and a rain-jacket may be required on wet and stormy nights. No lights are to be used on the beach and visitors with night vision problems may require the guidance of a friend to traverse the beach. Once in the park, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service staff have full authority and you must listen to their directions at all times to minimise disturbing our marine friends.

Opening Times outside of Turtle Season
