News update 03/02/2010
Hello
We have been fielding a number of calls from people wondering if they should still come for turtle viewing for the duration of the season.
Due to the bad weather we have a loss of approx 150 nests to erosion at Mon Repos with around 60 of these rescued and relocated.
150 nests out of the 1600 nests that we have on the beach this season is very small and shows how well the relocation program we run throughout the season is working.
So I am recommending that we will have plenty of nests to see emerging and we are still having nesting turtles also. Last night we had a number of clutches emerge and 2 loggerheads ashore to lay.
Cheers Cathy
