Access to TurtlesFrom Bundaberg City
To access Mon Repos Conservation Park, travel east from Bundaberg towards BARGARA, 8kms east of the city, you'll reach a large roundabout surrounded by sugarcane fields. Turn left here towards the PORT, travel for 2 kms then take the first right hand signed turn-off - the sign will say MON REPOS TURTLE ROOKERY this is also Grange Road. Follow this road almost to the beach, turning off to the left just before the TURTLE ROOKERY sign. This road will take you past the research lab and ends at the visitor centre car park - please note that it is speed limited in this area.
From Bargara
If you are staying at Bargara, travel back towards Bundaberg along the Bargara Road until you see the Bargara State School on the right, turn here this is Potters Road and at the end turn right. This will lead you along Grange Road into Mon Repos. If you are staying at Coral Cove, head north to Innes Park, then turn right towards Bargara at the first sign along Back Windermere Road. Turn left into Windermere Road, then right into Seaview Road. This T junctions with Bargara Road, turn left, then take the next right into Potters Road, then right into Grange Road. A free map is available from any blue and yellow Bundaberg Region Visitor Information Centre, located at Cnr Bourbong and Mulgrave Street Bundaberg West (next to the Bundaberg Base Hospital), or Gin Gin Visitor Information Centre located on the Bruce Highway Gin Gin. Guests at the Turtle Sands caravan park can access the centre by following a walking track at the back of the park.
Public Transport
There is no local bus service to Mon Repos Beach day or evening, however the local bus does run Monday through to Saturday and stops at the Bargara State School on Bargara Road approx 6-7kms from the Turtle Rookery.

Disabled Access
For those with mobility access difficulties, boardwalks and ramps access all parts of the visitor centre - including toilets - and ramps lead to the beach, however - the beach is sandy and turtles may nest at some distance from the visitor centre or high in the dunes.
A beach wheelchair is available but there are conditions of use and this also needs to be booked in advance (& may not always be available on the evening your are booked), rangers must be contacted prior to making a booking for more information, for conditions and availability please call 07-4159 1652.
